WebCrafters LLC FAQ

Q: What is the turnaround time for a Domain Name or Web Hosting Plan?

The turnaround time is usually 24 hours from the time payment is received and an available domain name is selected.

If transferring a domain from another registrar, the process usually takes uup to 5 business days to resolve properly from the time payment is received, dependent upon the client’s ability to respond quickly to authentication emails and the speed of the current domain name registrar.

If transferring web hosting for your website from another web host and all usernames and passwords are provided, all website data will be transferred within 24 hours of the time payment is received. However, the domain name could take up to 5 business days to resolve properly dependent upon the client’s ability to respond quickly to authentication emails and the speed of the current domain name registrar.

Q: What is the turnaround time for SSL Certificate installation?

It usually takes 24-48 hours from the time payment is received if all necessary information is provided by the client in a timely fashion.

Q: What is the turnaround time for a Web Design Package?

If a client provides all necessary login / password information, text based content, and graphics, and makes themselves available to interact with our team, giving feedback in a timely manner, then the turnaround time can vary from 1 to 4 months (depending upon the package and scope of the project).

Q: What is the process in creating/re-creating a website?

There are three distinct phases to creating/re-creating a website:

  1. Discover Phase: Collect the requirements for the website through an in depth website questionnaire, a client interview, discussing business / non-profit and website goals, defining the audience, discussing domain name possibilities, researching the competition, and discussing design options.
  2. Design Phase: Develop and present 2 – 3 distinct website designs (includes home and secondary pages, header image designs, etc.).  Upon client selection, present refined website direction with feedback.
  3. Develop Phase: Secure domain and hosting, install CMS, craft the design and functionality to meet the vision of the client.  Present completed design to client.  Either equip client to insert content or insert client prepared content into the appropriate website pages.  Revise according to client feedback.

Q: What is required to get started?

We have two distinct website design packages detailed on our web design page or feel free to call, text, submit a contact form. When the client has selected a package, we will send an e-contract for e-signature using Adobe Sign, no work will begin until a down payment is received. Any client initiated changes to the project’s scope or expected deliverables will be addressed with a revised proposal or invoice. During the project, the website will be placed in maintenance mode or developed on a development server and will not be available for viewing by the general public until final payment is received.

Q: How many design revisions can I make to the website?

Once the design is approved by the client, no changes to the design can be made; however, revisions to the content may be made up until the website goes live. After the website goes live, unlimited support is provided 1 year from finalization unless the client does not require support.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, Check, PayPal, Dwolla, or Credit/Debit Cards (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express).

Q: What if I am not satisfied with the website design or graphic design (i.e. logo design, logo animation, or explainer video)?

This is a great question. If we were auto mechanics, it would be a simple matter of “it works” or “it doesn’t work.” However, web design / graphic design is a subjective process which is to each person’s taste. We do our best to work together with our clients to create designs that accurately convey their vision. If for some reason our work isn’t to your satisfaction the “kill fee” for the project would be 50% of the total cost. That means that we could both walk away from the project at approximately half the price. We think it is fair to pay for the work that has been completed, while at the same time allowing a way out if the website design / graphic design is not going in the direction you had hoped.

If the kill fee is employed for a NEW website design, the client will continue to hold ownership of the domain name (one year term) and receive one year of website hosting. However, all WebCrafters LLC web designs will be removed from the site and a website place holder will be put into place. If the kill fee is employed for website REDESIGN, the website will also be reversed to it’s original state. If the kill fee is employed for a graphic design (i.e. logo design, logo animation, explainer video), WebCrafters LLC will retain all legal rights to and files for all proposed graphic designs.
